If you have been left wondering how come there was a difference in numbers about claims made by YouTube and comScore numbers, you probably were not alone. I always try to see what most people would never give a thought to, and this is what I feel put me in a different league (hope, that’s for the better).

comScore recently reported that YouTube had about 13 billion video views in April 2010, while YouTube announced that it was serving 2 billion views per day (A possible catch, that’s what I felt in the first place). But the mistake I committed was that the comScore video numbers were for the United States alone and YouTube’s 2 billion views per day figures were for the whole world.

Opps, there I go wrong but hey I still sense something wrong. I am of the view that comScore figures should be higher than told as there are at least 1 billion hits to YouTube from the US alone and I am sure that I am right on this own.

Facebook was classified by comScore as the fifth largest provider of videos having close to 41 million unique video views in the month of April 2010, which means more than Microsoft, Hulu, and CBS. More than Hulu, when did that happened? It seems that I was probably lost in my own world when Facebook overtook Hulu and others.

I was astonished to see that Facebook accounted for more than 16% of YouTube’s views and is the second largest referral source for online videos, next only to 18 percent of Google, and better than the third-spot taken by MySpace with just 4 percent of YouTube referrals.

The success story of Facebook does not end here. The social networking site is also the second largest referral source for portal sites such as Vimeo, Hulu, and Vevo. This was easy to believe as Facebook boasts of more than half a billion more visits than Google.

The only problem with Facebook is that one cannot view videos posted on the wall of an individual if not friends with him. This means that I can view only videos on Facebook wall of my friends.

The worst part is that not all Facebook members find it amusing or worthwhile to alert their friends about every entertaining video that appears online.

Despite all these limitations, popularity of Facebook is today more than that of Google that was once the indisputable King. Not any more!

If you are one of those online users who trust YouTube for every single thing in this world, you must already be familiar with YouTube Insight, video analytics functionality of YouTube. This functionality is useful for gathering information on how many people have viewed a video, where video views originate from, and what part of globe they are based at. But one thing that you may not be aware of is the fact that you can even have a look at analytics of competitors’ videos.

Understanding Statistics Of Youtube Videos

All you need to do is to visit the YouTube video page for which you need analytical data. You will see a box with the total number of views along with a double-down arrow next to it, this box can be seen on the lower right-hand side of the video. You can click the double-down arrow to expand the statistics. The statistics will be differentiated by total interaction, links to the video, total views, and other specifications.

Note: Though some users uploading video disable the display of statistics, you will not find most of them doing that.

Now that we have accessed insights on statistics, let us read about how to interpret the video statistics.

1) Total Views

The number of views accumulated over the lifespan of the video will be demonstrated by “total views”.

2) Links

This is arguably the most interesting section for people (especially business owners and online marketers). By having a look at links, you can find out from where the video views initiated. The look will also help you gather data related to keywords that were used to search the video, sites linking to the video, and referral video sources.

3) Honors

This section will let you know if your video was the most viewed, most discussed, and top rated during a specific period of time.

4) Comments, Favorites, and Ratings

Statistics coming under this section will help you find out if the video was engaging for the viewers and what all factors contributed to success of the video.

5) Audiences

This is one section that just cannot be ignored by business owners and marketers though a sense of diligence is still required before taking the new steps. The section helps you discover new market and niche opportunities, which you may have ignored in the past or never expected in the first place.

Analyzing Video Data Of Competitors

If you are about to enter the world of online video marketing or want to optimize benefits from presently-followed video marketing practices of your business, it will be better if you can analyze hit videos of your competitors.

This will help you understand where you need to work upon, and where you are strong. Not only this, you can also find details about sites or blogs due to which the competition videos got successful. Now it will be time for you to develop a better promotional strategy than that of your competitors. You will also be able to find out which are the most rewarding keywords and once identified, you can use them for videos of your business to make a strong, intelligent statement. Furthermore, you can even identify previously unexplored market segments that your competitors are benefiting from.

If you, as a business owner or online marketer, want to explore the benefits of web video marketing but ignoring serialization, you surely are not doing any good for your business. For those of us not aware about the serialization with the video content, we would like to inform that it is like telling a story via videos to keep the targeted audience coming back for more on a daily basis.

Businesses that have emphasized upon the concept of serialization have benefited in endless ways – regular traffic, more referrals, equilibrium between demand and supply for products and services offered by the business, retention of existing customers, and attracting potential customers and exploring new markets without much effort. As a profit-oriented business, could you ask for anything more?

A Thing Or Two About Serialization In Video Blogging

Video blogging can be presented before the targeted audience in regular installments (daily or weekly) usually in a chronological series to evoke attention of the interested parties just like serials capture attention of viewers.

Benefits Of Video Blogging Serialization

By delivering an interesting message to the audience gives them more than one reason to make a visit again. If that was not all, you can even encourage them to debate on the relevant site pages, blogs, and forums. The benefit – enhanced visibility and brand promotion like never-before, and consumers will relate with the brand, its products and services, and serialization concept. In short, there is nothing to lose and everything to gain if effectively serialization can be embedded to online video web series.

How To Go Ahead With Serialization?

For creating and formulating a rewarding online video marketing strategy, you can make use of the following tips:

Before you present the video series to the targeted audience, ask yourself if this is what even you would like to watch on a continuing basis. Think about each video episode (beginning, middle, and end) before start shooting for the video. Do make it a point to make the beginning and end the most interesting, especially the end, so that people can come back asking for more. It is highly important for you to understand needs and preferences of your targeted audience so that purpose of the video series is not defeated at any point of time. Also, be passionate, unique, and personal while creating and distributing videos with serialization.

The biggest mistake committed by most people engaging themselves is avoiding or neglecting opinion and response of potential consumers. If you do not have time for your business, you cannot expect the customers to relate to your business. Timely response is highly recommended. Whether you are receiving response from viewers or not, request them for feedback and make changes (if necessary and deemed fit). Humor works! You can’t go dead serious about a thing and ask others to enjoy it. The best policy – be light even when you are expressing a serious emotion.

These tips may appear easy to you in the first place, but they do work. Try them to believe!

Imagine you requiring the services of an attorney but having no idea about the nearest attorney office. Now what? You will search for attorney online – obviously. Now let us suppose that there is an attorney website where you see videos about the attorney explaining insights about the law, sharing his success stories, and appears just the right attorney for your specific requirements.

You have one more option, attorney site, which does not provide interaction (videos) or tell you much about the attorney firm. Which one would you select out of the two? Obviously, the first!

However, you will find many sites belonging to the second category than the first. The worst part is that most of the sites, belonging to the first category, are not educative for bringing a sense of trust and credibility in mind of the individual seeking attorney services online. This is the reason why attorney service providers, all over the world, need to realize that they need to appear as trustworthy entities than mere entities.

If you think that not many search for attorney services online, you need to get your facts right. For example – If I do not know a lawyer and even do not someone knowing a lawyer, I am obviously expected to go online and search unless I am the world’s only person without work and endless hours to search for attorneys by traditionally visit each and every attorney office nearest to my home and office.

Let us now read how attorney firms can make the best use of their site’s online presence to encourage potential clients to choose them and not others.

The first and foremost thing that you need to remember is to get professional videos that are educative and help clients trust you. The video must have an attention-evoking headline and content, which should also be relevant and useful for the client. Pitch of the video must be audible and professional and the video length should be a maximum of 1-4 minutes.

Creating professional videos is not end of the road, you need to make sure that it is promoted at every platform where your potential clients can visit or actually visit.

In addition to the abovementioned tips, do make it a point to watch the video before you post it on YouTube or other sites. Try to think from the perspective of a potential client – what he or she is expecting, is the video good enough to satisfactorily address the needs etc.

It is important for you to highlight your testimonials and approach to work, and not your personal or professional achievements. You need to explain how you can help solve a viewer’s problem and this information must be up to the point.

In order to reap and optimize benefits from video marketing, you should hire the services of an experienced video producing firm of repute so that all details are best addressed to evoke client responses.

In the world of viral marketing, PopScreen has emerged as a promising portal. Hailed as the easiest way for organizing and sharing favorite television shows, viral videos, news, webcasts, music, and movies from different sources in one location – PopScreen has everything that is needed to evoke attention of one and all.

There are many advantages associated with PopScreen besides those mentioned above. Videos or other content can be re-watched straight from the interface. If that was not all, beta version of the new PopScreen is something that just cannot be avoided.

New Layout And User Interface

There is not much of a difference between the color scheme of the old and beta versions – beige and green with splashes of red, orange, and blue – but the overall appeal of the beta version is surely worth a look. A sidebar widget about channels and single-line video streaming option are two additions to the beta version that do not disappoint, to say the least.

While the old PopScreen had a boring white headline ““Bookmarking tool for online videos and live web shows.”, its new counterpart has a unique and appealing mission statement ““Measuring the Pulse of Online Videos.”, which is more than enough to attract the eyeballs and emphasizing that the core purpose of the service has changed, and changed for the better.

If you have been looking for some cool options, the beta version of PopScreen will be more than delighting.

You will find interesting data below each of the video titles on the home page list, initiating with the number of “influencers”, which are sites such as the New York Magazine that are talking about, sharing, or embedding videos. The most appealing part of the beta part is the sidebar box highlighting the Featured Influencers by category on the home that will be useful to site visitors if they decide to go directly to any of the sources.

If that was not all to impress you, you can also access a snippet of comments on the site about the videos. The red time stamp, in proximity with the bottom of the list of influencers, will provide information about when the video began getting popular and the hosting web portal for the video clip. You can even share your admiration with your friends on Facebook about videos by clicking the “like” button.

The beta version is also preloaded with filtering options for videos that are “Popular Now” and videos that are “On Our Radar.” Things become impressive when you see a change to the tagline “Discover the Next Viral Sensation.” after switching to the “On Our Radar” view.

The recent announcement of YouTube to launch its own video editor tool to help every one edit his videos directly, was greeted with appreciation and excitement from all quarters. Let us read more about this unique tool to develop a clear and complete understanding.

This article will help you by providing complete and easy access to five steps for getting more value from this much talked-about video editing tool of YouTube.

Trim Your Videos

If you are the one recording your own videos, you should be using the Video editor tool of YouTube to remove the start and end of the videos, unless you are an expert. This is simply because no one would like to see amateurish stuff taking place and getting recorded while looking for professional videos.

Adding Introduction

Good intros are always recommended as they make potential viewers aware of what to expect in a specific video. For this, you can create a presentation using Microsoft Presentation 2010 with a single slide of approximately 5-9 seconds containing video title and your image. You then need to click on “create a movie” option for saving this presentation as a movie file and uploading the same on YouTube.

Once the movie file, to be used as the intro, is on YouTube, you need to drag it into the first video slot in timeline of the editor followed by the clip with “actual video” in the next slot. If you are using an old version of Microsoft Presentation, you can visit Acoolsoft.com to download the free utility, “PPT to Video”.

Clutter Cleaning

Once you are done with intro and the “actual video”, it is time for you to emphasize upon cleaning the clutter. You can either set the unedited video clips as private for not to seen by others or delete these clips to avoid cluttering the YouTube channel. It is worth noting that videos that are longer than 10 minutes will not be accepted by YouTube.

Add Music

YouTube’s online editor tool offers you royalty-free music tracks that can be used by you while creating online videos. With tens of thousands of music tracks from a variety of genres to choose from, choice is endless.
What you are waiting for, try the YouTube video editor as soon as it hits the online world!

If you are a business entrepreneur or online marketer, you would have realized by know that online marketing is a highly competitive activity by all standards. Success through online marketing efforts is elusive to only a few who make sure that exposure about the offered products and services gets better and more with every passing day.

One of the most result-oriented of all online marketing tools is video marketing. Largely spurred by the growth of YouTube, online video marketing is today the buzzword and deservingly so. With more than 50 billion hits on YouTube on a monthly basis, online marketers have more than just a reason to reap and optimize benefits of video marketing.

The fact that this form of marketing is easy and affordable at the same time for driving web traffic and even creating email marketing database makes it one of the most rewarding of all marketing tools.

If that was not all, online marketers and business owners would be glad to know that search engines such as Google, Yahoo!, and MSN appreciate videos and rank sites with unique and informative videos higher than others.

Now that we have read about the benefits of online video marketing, let us now read about how to optimize efforts directed towards this kind of marketing.

How to Start

First and foremost, it is important for you to take care of certain things. Online videos should be created in such a way that they not only are unique, truthful, relevant, and informative for the targeted audience but also helpful for closing the sales deals and helping consumers to make informed decisions. Planning for subject matter and approach of the videos should be clearly defined and videos must be short and good enough to evoke attention.

It is always recommended that the video should come from authorized company representatives or market experts since they enjoy credibility with the consumers. The video must have clear speech and directly in line with marketing policies of the business. The purpose of creating the video must be laid out before the consumer in the first 10-15 seconds. If you can support claims made in the video with statistical data and expert opinion, your video enjoys a high chance of being popular with the targeted audience.

One of the biggest mistakes that video creators make is that they try too much of sound and graphics in their videos that actually backfire. It is best to be professional and focus more on content.

Monitoring of Videos

Once videos are ready to be made available to the potential consumers, they must be promoted effectively before they come before eyes of the consumers. It is worthwhile to note here that video message must never be made ambiguous and should include all facts that can be helpful for the consumers to make an informed decision. Explaining the benefits of your products and services in an honest and clear manner can give more than just a reason to consumers to do business with you. Length of the video is important and it is best to keep it short.

When used effectively, video marketing can be one of the most promising arrows in the marketing quiver of a business. The best part is that creating and distributing videos is as easy yet effective as one can think and this surely means that video marketing is the best thing that your business can benefit from, in the short as well as the long run.

In today’s cutthroat business world, more and more companies, irrespective of their size and line of operations, are making use of online video marketing. This online video marketing tips for small companies will be beneficial if you have a small company.

The unchallenged popularity of YouTube, which is evident from the fact that nearly 31.2 billion videos were watched by online users in the United States alone in March 2010, is one of the biggest reasons behind such a phenomenon.

Let us read how online video marketing can be initiated to propel brand awareness and maintaining equilibrium between demand and supply of products and services of an online business.

How To Create Online Videos

With online videos emerging as primary marketing and communication tools for small as well as big businesses, generating qualified leads and maximizing sales are not concerns of businesses any more. The concept of online video marketing is more than sufficient enough to drive traffic and boost social media marketing efforts.

The best part about online video marketing is that even amateur videos can make a difference and evoke attention of the targeted audience though professional videos are always recommended. For creating videos, one can make use of smart phones, webcams, and camcorders like the Flip Video™ to stay close to quality solutions in a few minutes.

It is worth noting here that Flip Video™, the pocket-sized camcorder, is one of the favorites among the marketing communities. Costing as less as $200, this camcorder can be directly plugged onto the USB port of a PC for easy access to creating, editing, and distribution features. Animoto and JayCut, web-based services, are also good options for producing high quality and evoking videos.

Distribution Of Online Videos

Now that you have created videos, it is time to distribute. It is important to note here that YouTube is the indisputable market leader as far as online video distribution is concerned. For distributing videos besides marketing them on YouTube, online businesses can put their videos on their websites and blogs.

Some of the other online video distribution websites, apart from YouTube, are Megaupload, OneWorldTV, Photobucket, and Kewego. In order to enhance the appeal and visibility of videos, they can be distributed through social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter or through paid newswire distribution services such as PRNewswire and BusinessWire.

Benefits Of Online Video Marketing Leverages For Small Businesses

Online videos can be created and promoted by small businesses to improve branding and viral marketing measures. It is highly important to note here that the topic and medium of online videos will depend upon the approach, aim, and budget of the promotional campaign.

In this respect, some of the amicable opportunities may include:

PR:

1) Broadcast media interviews
2) Public statements from authorized business executives
3) Video news releases

Corporate Branding:

1) Product demonstrations and how-to-use guides
2) Video case studies and tutorials
3) Welcome videos on company site and blogs
4) Email marketing campaigns

Viral Marketing:

1) Commercial advertisements
2) Testimonials
3) Video Blogging

All in all, online video marketing is one comprehensive set of marketing tools that can easily propel sales and profits of a small business without putting any burden on its limited infrastructure.
